Taylor Swift has become a unique pop star: a star who strayed completely from traditional music into pop culture, turning into a pop icon that will be around forever, and will conquer everywhere. Swift is shedding her roots in the country as if they were second skins showing herself to be the smartest pop singer/songwriter of her time. She has the ability to tap into the current trend and create her own. It was apparent in her earliest songs especially with regard to the neo pay homage of Tim McGraw. On her 2nd album, Fearless (2008) Swift revealed a singer/songwriter who was beginning to get acquainted with herself. The album was able to have significant legs not only in the U.S. where it racked the record with six platinum singles, on the strength of the Top Ten hits Love Story and Belong with Me Belong with Me but throughout the world performing particularly well in Australia, U.K. Canada and Australia. Swift soared to the top of her game with Speak Now. In the three albums that followed (Reputation 2017, 1989 2014, and Red 2012) Red 2012 1989 2014, and Reputation 2017, her fame only grew. It was a clear indication that she was in a new pop world where she fit in. She was in the forefront of pop even after she changed her signature style in her twin albums folklore & Evermore in the year 2020.
