Lee Roy Selmon's story combines the virtues of family football scholarship and volunteerism in the community. First of all the Selmons were born by Lucious as well as Jessie Selmon, on an agricultural property near Eufala located in Oklahoma as the youngest of their nine children. Two soccer. He is one of three brothers who were players for Oklahoma. All three became All-America. Lucious Jr. Dewey & Lee Roy started for one season in 1973. Lee Roy is the winner of both Outland Awards and Lombardi Awards. He was the top lineman for across the country. The three years he was an offensive lineman, Oklahoma finished 32-1-1 and won two national championships. He received a third scholarship in 1975 and designated a National Football Foundation Student-Athlete. Selmon was awarded a degree from education. Lee Roy's fourth service consisted of ten hours a week in volunteer work during the college. In Tampa, he played for the Buccaneers for nine seasons, and eventually became an all-pro. Additionally, he started a career in business. In 1988, he began working as an Account Relation Officer in the First Florida Bank in Tampa. He was employed by the Special Olympics Easter Seals Baptist Church Ronald McDonald House United Negro College Fund South Florida Institute as well as the Black Life Hall of Fame Bowl Committee. This is why the Junior Chamber of Commerce designated Lee Roy as one of the top 10 young men in the country. Lee Roy, a 6-2-inch larger and weighing more than 256 pounds when he played in the college level as player, commanded his team during the season of 1975. In 1993, he joined the university of south Florida's athletic department as its associate director. He was inducted into the College Football Hall of Fame in 1993 by The GTE Academic All-America Hall of Fame of 1994 as well as by The Pro Football Hall of Fame of 1995. Parents, Lucious and Mary Selmon Jr. were awarded the Distinguished American Award in 1989 from the Oklahoma City Chapter National Football Foundation. Henry Bellmon, the governor of Oklahoma gave it to them.
